Hi, I'm Mark - 29, living in Derby - England . My star sign is Aquarius (for those of you who are into such things). I have a BSc in Environmental Monitoring and a MSc in Environmental management. I then did another degree and now worh as a diagnostic radiographer at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary.
OK, my main interests are photography (naturally), especially butterfly photography. This is a summer activity which i find very relaxing and gives me great joy and satisfaction :) During winter my camera turns its attention to landscapes. Both require technique and expertise, but butterfly photography is much more exciting. |

Besides photography, i am a keen cross country runner. Try to get out most days and choose routes that are hilly and are generally interesting. Forests and things... I also enjoy walking especially in the Peak and Lake Districts. I go to Scotland whenever possible and would love someday to go walking in the Alps. The picture above is me in the Lake District several years ago - with very wet feet! |

My other main interest is SCUBA diving. I have been diving now for about 7 years and has taken me to places such as Egypt and Malta. But the place i like to dive the most is on the many wrecks off the British coastline. The water may be cold and dark but the numbers of wrecks makes up for that. The background image on this page is of me inside one of these and that's me on the right happily scooby-dooing :) Oh, and although i dive with a twin-set and sometimes stage cylinders - i am not a techie, i still refer to masks as 'goggles' and to fins as 'flippers'. This really upsets some of the more seasoned divers but hey, diving is supposed to be enjoyable... |

My musical tastes are very varied but my favourite group currently is Hooverphonic (which i am going to see in Brussels on the 25th November). I also like Simon and Garfunkel, The Cure, The Beatles, Marilyn Manson, and a huge range of classical music - especially Prokofiev.
I drive my lovely Alfa Romeo 145 1.6 twin spark |

Finally, here's a scary pic of me... That's not an angelic halo around my head - i added it later in Photoshop. Thought the image looked better in black and white so there we are ;-)
I hope this little page gives you some insight into the person behind derbyshire butterflies and to demonstrate that im not completely insane - though most of my friends would disagree. |
