Strymonidia w-album
- White-letter Hairstreak. 27 - 30mm. Widespread in mild regions
from central Europe to Japan. Its one generation flies from June to August,
in margins of deciduous woods, or about groups of trees in open country.
The butterfly likes to visit flowering danewort, hemp-agrimony, etc. The
caterpillar lives on elm and other deciduous trees; the egg hibernates.
